After his apprenticeship at Siemens, Roland Weigel completed his electronics studies in Munich. Exciting years followed in the development team for camera systems in the ARRI Group, which is still a leader in the film industry today. In 1969, Roland Weigel followed Heberlein’s call to Switzerland, where he developed control units for embroidery machines. The Swiss watch industry finally owed the first user-friendly measuring devices to his development and inventive spirit. After these professional successes, Roland Weigel decided to become self-employed in 1980.
